Preparing for Your Tattoo

So you want a tattoo but you don’t know where to start.  No worries, we are here to help guide you through the process.  It might be your first tattoo and you are not sure what to expect, it could be your full back piece that you’ve waited 10 years for and need help planning.  Either way, this is a guide to help you prepare for the tattoo.  If you have any additional questions feel free to ask.  We are always here to advice our clients into making the best tattoo decisions possible.

  • Decide what you would like tattooed.

  • Choose an artist that you would like to tattoo you and is fluent in the style of art that you’re wanting.

  • If you would like a custom drawing you will need to set up a consultation with your artist.  Consultations are free and last about 30 minutes.  We discuss aspects of your tattoo and body placements.  If you have any references please bring them.  Pictures, cups, or sculptures, we’ve seen it all.  We are looking for an idea of what you like.

  • If you are ready to schedule your tattoo appointment and/or have a custom drawing made we will ask you for a 20% deposit.  The deposit holds your appointment time(s) and goes towards to the cost of your tattoo.

  • The night before your tattoo make sure to get a good nights rest.  Also avoid drinking too much alcohol, as being hung over will make your tattoo hurt more.

  • On the day of your tattoo, make sure you’ve eaten a good meal before arriving at the studio.  It will help your body out.  Also, do not drink alcohol or do drugs before coming, as we will refuse to tattoo you.  It’s state law!  You are more than welcome to go tie one on after your tattoo session.

  • Bring your State ID to your tattoo session.  It is required for EVERYONE.

  • Get excited!  You’re about to get a new tattoo!

  • If you have questions, ask them.
